Spreading the Angling Message

Angling is currently the UK’s largest participation sport, but we believe it’s time to make it bigger and more accessible than ever.

Angling is currently the UK’s largest participation sport, but we believe it’s time to make it bigger and more accessible than ever.

The thrust of the I Fishing campaign is to encourage new anglers into the sport and educate the next generation about the benefits of fishing safely and correctly. We want to teach both children and adults about the joys of angling, how to respect their environment and appreciate the significance of their surroundings. We want to promote angling as a lifestyle choice – a recreational family activity that can be enjoyed in Britain’s varied and astonishing countryside.

Ultimately, it is our aim to enhance fishing’s public image, to make angling a sustainable and environmentally sympathetic pursuit. We want to get Britain fishing responsibly."

Our primary objective is to promote natural fisheries and waterways that will give new anglers a real taste for the sport. We will be using a series of media outlets to generate interest in the I Fishing campaign and we believe this activity can be of huge benefit to angling. It is through partnerships of this nature that the project can reach more people, raising further awareness on all fronts. We will be working with numerous organisations who are just as keen to promote angling as a way to enjoy nature at its best.
